When two socialists

this is what comes out of it:

rick lemanski: I do believe that the idea our forfathers had for this nation is now what Canada and France have evolved into though. We have lost a little of ourselves.

calyctus: You mean a stronger central government that has protections for its minorities and some socialized programs that create a buffer between the nation's populace and abject poverty and starvation? I agree.

rick lemanski: Exactly

This is so exactly wrong as to be laughable. Read the Constitution and a few history books. The founders of our country created a weak central government. All real power was given to the States. They set up NO social programs. Nothing to protect against poverty. Nothing to protect minority's.

They created Freedom.

Socialism takes away Freedom.

Well you are brave to laugh at my beliefs online.

I'd laugh in your face if you tried to convince me the Founding Fathers wanted a stong central government. So would every one who has ever studied American history.

Im so sure you would. Says much about your character doesnt it. Two people having a enjoyable conversation and you have to play almighty. I know that this government was set up with a weaker government and the states would be in charge of their own. Do you not think they could see farther ahead to what this country could become. Truth is Canada has become the new melting pot and I see where so much of their taxes go like free college and trains. I dont even have freedom of speech like I should because you want to be insulting. Who is teaching this American history and with what books. As a kid I was told the Civil War was fought do to slavery. That had such a small part at the time. I was told Teddy Rosevelt charged San Juan hill on horseback. They had no horses and the black Buffalo soldiers had it secured already.

+1 (except for the laughing in ones face)-edit

i know funny how over time people forget what really went on so they want to repeat the past mistakes whats next after a stronger central government single party rule . if you want to know why the founding fathers did not want a big central government just take out a history book and look at the roman empire.

I am not asking for government rule. I am asking for Intellegent people who give a damn about the little guy to lead. Do not put words in my mouth. I am not wanting a dictatorship.

not saying you want a dictatorship but history speaks for itself the stronger and more powerful a government becomes the more likely it will turn bad

also i think we need to put an expiration date on our governments like milk or potatoe chips once once it has gone past the date we get a new one. idk lets say 25 years till a government goes bad

Yeah, and wasn't it one of our presidents, I gonna go out on a limb here and say George Washington, that hated the job and made a comment about big government being bad, but also hinting at the same time to the fact that there still needed to be a government?

Lets just let all the socialist people live together in one country like Canada, take away all government and let everything be equal just like real socialism. Then we can take bets on when someone makes his/her way real sneaky like to the top of the food chain and turns it into...not socialism. Or we could just look back on the live simulation that was put on for us by the U.S.S.R.

I do not see that attitude portrayed by the politicians of this day...a shame really..(or is it a sham?)

i mean we need to dismantle the government and its parties every 25 years and rewrite them for the next generation. i know that is an old idea but a good one straight from Tom jefferson

Oh I totally agree with that idea. I think thats more of what I was thinking from the go. So many governments have changed as time goes by. We have gotten stale and forgot whats important.

just a side thought idk who else would love this but i think we should allow the governator of cali to run for office. this also falls under the stupid rule of having to be a natural citizen to run for president i think it is crap because how can we have someone that thinks outside the box when all we allow are people born in it!

Whoa there...green? I have yet to see a logical green movement. We can't change stuff like they want which is to get rid of the stuff we have now and replace it with the new stuff. Madison has started to do that and the cost of powering your home is, well its costs you your left nut right now. If their plan goes for lightening the load on different systems with green products then yes go for it. But I am sick of these corporations that support these idiots that push the green movement.

No water=smelly ass urinals

less water=my poop sticks to the toilet

million dollar windmills that need to be constantly monitored=lots of money spent on less power

new "green" hot water heater and softener my neighbor got=less hot water and they have to buy water from the store

"green" cars=hahahahahahahahahahahahaha oops i just peed a little

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
