Perhaps you are falling for the same trap as Torn... as in, you need to read the article. It's an issue because some lawmaker wants to waste the time and money to remove an old law that is on the books but no longer enforced.

..AH!...the old "I LOOK BUSY" trick...

Yeah I showed it to my father and he said "well I believe" and I said "that doesn't make it right does it?" Then I had to explain it to him.

I mean if an Atheist and witnesses a murder and doesn't want to testify because they're friends with the guy or something then they have a way out.

Also just because they're not constitutional doesn't mean they're not still enforced illegally. I mean if it wasn't this wouldn't be an issue anymore.

Agreed..

I have met many moral Atheists...

I don't think it is a matter of if atheists were moral or not when the law was founded, just sounds like a classic anti-anything to me.

The law itself would have probably related to if they weren't Christian though, due to the common meaning of "God" is the Christian ones, due to in my opinion, is the only "God" that is referred to as "God." It could be argued that it means any "God" but the law tends to take the common meaning of the word. It could be argued that the legislation should have included a name such as "Hosana" or "Jehova" or what ever you cool kids are calling it these days.

Yeah the law was unconstitutional, but hell, hasn't bothored Christians changing it in the past.

Looking at how people view atheists as a whole is pretty interesting though.
