Soulrev Posted May 31 Posted May 31 (edited) So I should have posted this before I left so instead of what I'm about to do I'll just go over what I just did - The wife and I just officially hiked to the summit of Pike's Peak this last week! Wednesday-Friday to be specific. Took 3 days total, 2 going up and 1 going down. 13 miles one way, 26 miles round trip. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g33537-d12713610-Reviews-Barr_Trail_to_Pikes_Peak-Manitou_Springs_El_Paso_County_Colorado.html It kicked our asses though, that's for sure! Not in the shape we used to be. Definitely want to tackle more, so we're starting to go for more hikes, and work our way back up to where we were just 10 years ago. Getting old sucks, but what sucks even worse? Getting passed going uphill to Pike's Peak, by 70 & 80 year olds. Seriously, I lost count of how many, obviously 65+ year olds actually passed us like we weren't even moving, on the way up the mountain. That's how I wanna be when (if) I get that age! Soulrev Posted June 10 Posted June 10 (edited) Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do. Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still. I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well. I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like, in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest. Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍 Edited June 10 by Soulrev

But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
TronRP Posted June 11 Posted June 11 About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop. It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?". But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for. With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid. ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.
TronRP Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago About to cut as much of the front grass as I can before the Sun descends into the horizon.
