True, but how many of the general populace know that?

Go back and read the first post then. How hard is it to scroll up?

Scrolling up is easy, finding a coherent topic in that mess is not.

It's not my fault if you can't understand it because it makes perfect sense to me. But ok I'll break it down for you.

Most of the nation that is "gods people" (right wing fundies and friends) prays for him to lose and he wins instead.

So either Obama is the second coming of Christ or there is no god. I'm leaning toward the no god part but I'm sure you all knew that.

I absolutely despise fallacies of the excluded middle, Scary Guy. There is the possibility that God did not listen to the prayers of his followers, or that God is in fact an entirely different entity from that presented to us in the Christian bible, or any other multitude of unprovable, unknowable metaphysical possibilities.

So, I would rather talk about the history of the Republican and Democratic parties, and their futures than directly engage in a topic that on its face is a logical fallacy.

Forgive me for being so blunt.

..I'll add the definition of DEISM...Deists beilieve that G*D is unconcerned with such petty things..

Deism is a religious and philosophical belief that a supreme natural God exists and created the physical universe, and that religious truths can be arrived at by the application of reason and observation of the natural world. Deists generally reject the notion of supernatural revelation as a basis of truth or religious dogma. These views contrast with the dependence on divine revelation found in many Christian,[1] Islamic and Judaic teachings.

Deists typically reject most supernatural events (prophecy, miracles) and tend to assert that God (or "The Supreme Architect") has a plan for the universe which that Architect does not alter either by intervening in the affairs of human life or suspending the natural laws of the universe. What organized religions see as divine revelation and holy books, most deists see as interpretations made by other humans, rather than as authoritative sources.

Many of the founders of this republic were deists, by the way... :)

Go start your own thread then. My point is that the most devout followers in this country are christians, and red ones at that. Although being in a blue state maybe a Detroit forum wasn't exactly the best place for this theory.

I'm also excluding the middle, just as the right wing often does.

AH-HA! That explains it! That explains why you don't see G*D...It is in the middle.

HAHAHA! I laugh at the concept...they are not Christians whatsoever.

FIRST OFF...Jesus Christ was from THE DESERT...meaning he was NOT WHITE. How dumb is that?!??!

God does not always give people what they want. Maybe what they want is not good for them.

Flawed logic is flawed logic. It may make sense to you but that in no way means that it's right or even makes sense to anyone else. Perhaps if you started from a neutral stance rather than from a stance where you have already made up your mind and are trying to create a logical argument that supports your position?

..aside from that..Christ means anointed..& Cristian means Christ Like...how can it be that peoples are "anointed like"..anointed is not an "ish" thing....you dig..SO..if Christians called themselves "Christs" or "Cristists"

-ist

a suffix of nouns, often corresponding to verbs ending in -ize or nouns ending in -ism, that denote a person who practices or is concerned with something, or holds certain principles, doctrines, etc.: apologist; dramatist; machinist; novelist; realist; socialist; Thomist.

..& yes that would change Christianity to "CHRISTDOM"...but most peoples do not do what is prescribed as what peoples should do when they are in a given religious sect...instead of keepin' their head down..& walking the path (that they say they walk) they are quite content to stand in a large crowd & tell everybody else that they are doing it wrong...& that they should stand around and throw hate.

Though I am a Believer in a single divine source...& I really like the person (a teacher & profit) known as Jesus Christ (his name was or would have been actually JESU)...whether he was 1 guy in history..or a dude that some other peoples beefed up a bit..I don't claim such HUBRIS as to call myself any kind of "CHRISTIAN"...it's very relevant..his REAL MESSAGE...love thy neighbor as they would love themselves...all the Christians that get in other peoples shit..usually with hate charged words & tender voices...that ain't very "CHRIST-LIKE"...(& it makes ya' wish for that sword JESU talks about..."if you must carry a sword; then carry 2")...do note: I am not trying to convert...not my way...just givin' me insight where it was warranted. ~Peace.

Milk chocolate since he's only half black.

My logic isn't flawed, it's quite sound from any perspective. In a neutral position the argument is the same. It's also a theory so it can't be right or wrong until proven otherwise.

also Rev, way to read into the quote. I like where you went with that though.

I love my neighbor, that's why I do what I do. I wish sanity upon them.

;) Rev LOVES Nietsche! He's right up there with JESU, Siddhartha, & Einstein.
