Ah, the "If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about" argument. Favored reasoning of power-abusing cops everywhere. Here's the thing: in that kind of environment, EVERYONE has something to hide, EVERYONE is guilty of SOMETHING. The purpose behind this kind of 1984 scenario is not public safety, but public control. Over time, more and more activities become criminalized until it becomes impossible to even know everything on the prohibited list. I don't want the government's nose out of my business because I have something to hide; I want it out of my business because the Constitution says it has to! I can't believe I have to explain this.

Microwave ovens and velcro don't enable a tyrannical government to enslave me.

Or, stand up, speak out against what's going on, and

target="_blank. I simply can't wrap my brain around this sort of mindset. Read the Declaration of Independence! Read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights! Then, read them again until you understand them. (When I say "you", I'm not referring to you, specifically, Candyman, but everyone who meekly accepts these assaults on our liberties.) When we do this, when we allow the private Federal Reserve to bankrupt our nation, when we allow millions of illegal immigrants to suck on the taxpayers' collective tit, when we allow Congress to pass draconian legislation without even reading it first, we piss on the graves of everyone who fought, suffered, and died to give birth to this Republic. Maybe Big Brother will win. Maybe most of us will be living in labor camps in five years. Maybe we'll be dead, but I can tell you that I'll go down resisting. Like Patrick Henry said...

Oh I know all of that. I am just sick of telling people that stuff...nobody wants to do anything about it but they want the benefits. Also, I am sick of the people that come with the "sky is falling" mentality...it sickens me.

Honestly, I have all but given up on other people. Even as a smoker I am willing to admit that smoking is bad, not horrible like people say though, and that it shouldn't be allowed everywhere...however, it should be allowed in a few places...like even just a few bars. But, to my dismay people went over to the side of the brainless mob and have done nothing in the last few years to stop the horrible assaults on tobacco and its smokers. So, why should I give a shit about other causes? I had before. I supported as many groups as possible, even the gay and lesbian community despite the fact that I think it is not really right, and I donated money to these causes if I was able to. However, all these people that preach about their rights and wants do a complete turnaround when it comes to something that they may not agree with.

Seriously, I am getting sick of fighting. Every fucking day I have to fight for my grades...yes I am trying my best, but I really do have to fight my teachers. I fight for what I belive in and it seems nobody is there to back it up. I will keep smoking, I will keep my guns, and I will continue to live the way that I want to...but I am done fighting for others...I can't afford to do it in more ways that one...

and remember, we are not in a Democracy. Never have been. We are a Republic. Democracy leads only to tyranny. The founding fathers knew that, hence the Republic we are in.

Yes, despite the Authorities' efforts to convince you otherwise, this is NOT a democracy. In short, in a democracy, the majority gets to tell you how to live; in a republic, your individual rights are (supposed to be) sacrosanct. Most of our presidents, congressmen, and judges seem to have a very hard time with this concept. I'd be interested to see a count of how many times during any president's administration he refers to the U.S. as a "democracy". They, including our current president, do it ALL THE TIME. Presidents are not stupid. It is done on purpose, to mislead and give a false impression of how our government is supposed to work.
