I think these people should be put into general population in prison where they will be dealt with appropriatly and savagly. Instead they are put into protective custody and seperated from the rest of the population. The sad part about all this is it is not about the sex, even if you take away thier genatilia most would still commit these crimes, that is why castration would not work either. There is no rehabilitation for these folks it seems to me there is but one solution. I am not a real big fan of the criminal justice system they seem more and more to be protecting the wrong people and not the ones they are suppose to be ............Sorry I'm starting to rant......

Do you mean LEGAL paedophiles (which, in some states, often includes Ephebophilia, which can often be consentual and informed, despite laws which state that person under the age of X cannot legally consent) or just straight-up kiddy-diddlers?

Furthermore, aside from the obvious non-consentual child rape, do other things constitute "paedophilia" even though it has never been proved to be 100% phychologically damaging to children? In all honesty, children are going to be exposed to sex, be it through the media or the school yard, so does would a parent who's open about sex with hi/r children count as one who engages in paedophilic behaviours when s/he says to Junior "it's alright to masturbate, because it's a guarantee that you'll be having sex with somebody you love?" Does buying a twelve-year-old boy porn and a bottle of lubriderm constitute paedophilic behaviour if the intent is for the kid to learn and masturbate rather than (as Dworkin insisted always happened) use it as a "lure" to get the child into the seedy underworld of Kiddy-Diddlers and Rapists?

I can give you one good reason why and I'm not counting the fact that so many molested children end up becoming molesters that otherwise would not have. Try because of a peace of scum bag shit I broke the nose of a person that may not have deserved it just because he offered my daughter a juice box. Victims also have a hard time trusting peoples motives.

By the way you do love to compare apples to oranges don't you? Pedophilia and Ephebophilia A.K.A.statutory rape are two different things that's why we have laws reflecting that.

In fact we need to bring back the "dead or alive" type of man-hunter - these days criminals have too many rights. If your a predator you should lose all of your basic human rights. Let the judicial system pay my fee so thta I can still pay my bills, and I'll take out the trash, no questions asked, no money wasted in trial, no monay wasted in years of incarceration.

The police are made up of ordinary citizens, paid with our taxes. The Courts, are made up of ordinary citezens again, paid with our taxes. They enforce Laws, that enforce Rights. that We chose to follow. Everyone, no matter how bad their crimes, gets their day in court.

I would have to agree with the above statement, as messed up as I think many of our systems of government are... I like the fact that police are at least trying to protect us, and our criminal justice system is trying to work properly. If it was every man for themselves, we would very quickly sink into a violent society and a power structure would re-emerge, that would most likely not be quite as good as the one we have now. Even with all of the corruption and lying that is in our current government, it is still better than most of the alternatives.

obviously not talking about innocents - talking about predators, meaning career type people, meaning a history of documented Adult to Child perversion. I was abused from age 5 to 9 and I can't tell you how much it has affected probably every aspect of my life!

Being a mom myself ,that would be one of my biggest fears for my children!

Rozzlyn does not make a valid point the federally mandated minimum age (the youngest age a state is allowed) is 12 if some other state wants to say that that is not old enough and bump it up to 13 fine. You will find no state un the U.S. that will try a person for pedophilea involving 14 and up from that point it becomes STATUTORY RAPE (which is becoming know as unlawful sexual conduct with a minor ) and that is a different kind of sexual offense.

Personally I don't think that 14 is old enough to consent even though they think they are. When I was 10 and trying to talk any girl that was kind of cute into "letting me stick it in" as I would say, was I old enough to consent? HELL NO.

I had something like this happen. The cops laughed at her parents and said the prosecuting attorney had better things to do and if she did take the case the judge would laugh it out of the court room.

Actually I think our modern prison system is the perfect place for them. Let them find out what it feels like to become someone's bitch.

However unfortunatly they usually get out too soon or often. And do it again.

There was a neighbor girl here who was raped by the peeping tom teen I chased off 3 times....I never caught him he was kinda big anyway....tried to get one of my kids to go outside when she was only 10. He tried to break into my house by removing screens and sliding up the window which has locks luckily.

Anyway....he was 17.....so he got off after just a few years. A few years that from my understanding made him worse....

He followed this girl home and not only raped her, beat her up. Just a tiny, nice little girl who WAS normal before this.....she is all messed up now.

You know what bothers me most? He isn't allowed to live 3 houses away from her anymore but does still go to this reletives house to visit and she see's him in the driveway and stuff and it really messes with her head.
