OMG THOSE POOR PEOPLE ARE DIENG....

Oh no I'm not blaiming them, but they sure didn't help any.

Yeah a problem they've known about for 40 years and did nothing to prevent, never mind it is their fault. But more so the fault of the people who live there. This is why I live in Michigan. No earthquakes, no hurricanes, no tropical storms. The most we get are tornados and severe weather, maybe a blizzard in the winter but nothing that kills a very large ammount of people in a very short ammount of time.

"Oh look it's a dried up lake, lets build a house there." Real genius there. Fuck it, break the levys and turn it into a venace clone.

Steven... I thought I mentioned this. I have experiance working flood releif with the Red Cross. I was also in the military for 8 years. I'm the type of person they want to come help. Where do you think the people driving the water and food trucks come from? Who unloads the sand bags? Who carries the dead?

My wife and I talked it over and If I go she is cool with it. Though she is concerned that I wont have a job when I get back. So, I talked with my boss. I am sopposed to know by Tuesday... No, my company has no sense of urgancy. If I have a job when I get back, I'm leaving Wed.

Didnt know this dude - I just thought you were a guy with a big heart who wanted to load up his pickup and go. I'm glad you have prior experience and are prior military - you'll need to keep your head. Still - at this point, there are many logistical issues with the very basics - getting in, doing the food and water drops, repelling anti-aircraft fire (sad but true), and dealing with the dead. All of this stuff has only just begun and is going to be atypical at best, and very slow getting any momentum going.

Besides the gun-fire, rapes, and general street violence that has broken out, the water itself and its high (and growing) bacteria levels will be your biggest enemy, and one you cannot easily defend against - especially if you have cuts in your skin. I wish I could go with you - but I truly cannot, it would cause a disaster here at home for me as I am the sole source of income and had been out of work for a couple of months. Still, Laura and I are donating thru our local church who has set up assistance. It also sounds like you have a great wife who is very understanding.

If you decide to go I'd like it (if possible) if you could keep in touch with me. Do you have a cell # (are they even working over there??) you can PM me?

WTF?  News reporters have had time to actually go into New Orleans, videotape people dying, crying, passing out, and also helping each other and asking for help, but rescue workers can't get in there?  There's video footage of the people waiting to be evacutaed from hospitals.  Didn't all this start on Monday?  I'd like to think 'everything is being done', but it sure doesn't look like it.  If the TV crew can get in there, shouldn't water, food, and help be able to get there at the same time?

thats is excatly why i started this post and kept up my rants, like i said, i heard they stopped resuue efffort and supplies cause some one shot at a helicopter. WTF we cant handle a few shots? We go to war withthese helicopters and stuff. THey told those people to go there and elft them with nothing, our country is really really fucked up. I stopped watching stuff but i wll probally go back since the intial shock is over and i had a small cry at lestat as i was explainign it all. I am just really disgusted with our country Yeah we did all this to our selves by electing hte wrong people and believeing we are untouchable or above this type of stuff. I would have thought that after 911 the country would have woken up and thought about how touchable we really are.

it is sickening and i have given in to the fac that right at this moment htere is nothing i can do but pray.

As taken from a Fox News story:

More buses were showing up to evacuate refugees from the New Orleans Superdome while military vehicles full of meals-ready-to-eat, bottled water and other supplies began to arrive. Flatbed trucks carried huge crates, pallets and bags of relief supplies. Soldiers sat in the backs of open-top trucks, their rifles pointing skyward.

Helicopters were picking up what was left of people stranded on rooftops as armed police and military went through the streets to clamp down on crime. Air-conditioned tour buses also showed up to further evacuate refugees.

At the New Orleans Convention Center, some of the thousands of storm victims awaiting their deliverance applauded, threw their hands heavenward and screamed, "Thank you, Jesus!" as the camouflage-green trucks and soldiers arrived.

"Lord, I thank you for getting us out of here," said Leschia Radford.

This sucks. I just watched the news....I wish I felt better. I have two freinds going. If you sign up for the red crsoss they call you in about a week and train you for two days before you go down....that seems like an awful long wait.....

its sad that we were so obviously this under-prepared and ill-equipped to deal with the aftermath. especially since its apparently long been known this very thing could happen.

this is a tragedy, and not just because of the flooding. :(

but im glad to see that big business is all set to profit off of this disaster. <_<

The Israeli wall is 455 miles

To put a wall around New Orleans would be 50 miles

American taxpayers gave $10 billion in 1991 to relocate millions of Russian Jews. The American taxpayer gave Israel an apartheid-enforcing wall, built them scores of house in Gaza, and now they get $2.2 billion to move out of their illegal settlements.

Now, federal troops are sent in with 'Shoot to kill' orders because people are stealing blankets and baby food and other necessities from Zionist-owned Walmart stores..
