Do Looks Matter?

I can be a bitter little boy sometimes. Not only do I hope the grass ain't any greener, but that it's also full of dog shit.

So true, more often than not the grass is full of shit on the other side.

If they are going after looks or material things it's always good to find out they got the short end of the stick. Maybe someday they will learn when you find someone good that will put up with yer shit stay with 'em. :cool :

wishing ill for someone or wanting revenge only hurts you in the end - wish them well, and hope they find what they're looking for, just as you hope to find for yourself... forgive, and carry on with your life. negativity creates itself, but so does positivity - which would you rather have in your life?

I have only been guilty of that once in my life and it was 9 years ago. Other than that I think that sometimes when you look for someone "better" in a lot of cases it's because of self insecurities. Those that are always looking at the other side of the fence would prolly be better off if they look inward rather than convince themselves that someone new will make life better or make them happy. But, those are just my thoughts.

There is only one whom I wish ill and, were I not a pacifist, he would be dead and I would be within my rights.

There is revenge and there is justice.

forgiveness is for you, not the other person...

Excellent way of putting it.

I can't help but post the Family Guy quote this reminds me of.

Peter: "Well, I'm going to the beautiful people's club. I guess I can take him with me. Hell, seeing us all in one place, might give something to shoot for."

Lois: "The Beautiful People's club, ha, how, how come I've never heard of that?"

Peter: "Lois, I can't say anymore. I'm probably already in trouble for mentioning it to, a, uh, well, we, call you Normies. Okay bye!

Oh, and also one from Futurama:

"When you look this good, you don't have KNOW anything"

Some things you don't forgive.

It's been ten years.

I don't care if the bastard lives or dies; I won't give him that much energy, but if asked, I have to admit that there is one person I will always hate.

I agree that looks do matter.. I used to be in the I'd rather have brains than looks club, and all that got me was Al Bundy... with hair and a pot belly. I think he was so insecure that I would find someone better that he had to constantly put me down... never noticing that ...I married him... because I loved him. He quickly cured me of that after 5 yrs mental abuse and controling ways.

For once in my life I am with someone I'm attracted to on all levels.... physiclly, mentally and spiritually... there are no doubts or insecurities on my part and that's a new one for me. I have found real love. You can't have a relationship with someone who's insecure with you or you're insecure with, and looks do play a big part in that.

I have yet to meet someone that can say that they aren't interested solely in looks and believe them

That's because you've never met me.

The eyes have it.

Or they don't, in which case... they don't.

Looks matter, to a degree, but it's more about attraction.

I will never win a contest for looks, but have met women that became lovers or girlfriends, and it was because we clicked, and that was what mattered.

You have to be attracted - looks - but if you want more than a roll in the graveyard then you have to have a true attraction, which is more than looks.

my husband is kind of dorky looking, but in a cute way. he's starting to bald and he's only 27. but he has a great sense of humor and can always make me laugh. and he is wonderful to my daughter. i don't think looks matter. they help, but its mostly that attraction inside.

Of course looks matter, but that doesn't necessarily mean that someone needs to be good-looking by popular standards in order to be attractive. We all have our own little quirks and find different things appealing. Hell, I like long noses and dimples as well as large hips on women, but that's just me...
