So... what do people think of the rioting in France? Does it bother you that they are burning Theators, churches and other things that are not "of Islam"?

Posted

I am going to France in one week... I will let you know.

At the rate this is escalading your going to get there just in time for the full fledge revolution.

French officials are in talks with Muslim leaders to try to get things calmed down, but the rioters say they wont calm down until the Interior Minister resigns... Such is the way of Islam. If you don't like the elected government.. burn everything to the ground.

LOL yes revolution

That is sort of an over generalization about muslims... don't you think?

Normally.. I wouldn't say such a broad statement... I don't think all Muslims are terrorists... but all most all known terrorists groups are Muslim. 80% of the rioters are Muslim.

That is true

Something else to keep in mind.. the riots started because two young Muslim men died. They were tresspassing on a power station and were electrocuted. The rioters claim they were being chased by police (the police deny this) and that is what led them to break into the power station and get killed... Somehow that is the Police's fault.. not the two men who broke into a power station and touched stuff.

I was wondering how it started... It was hard to figure it out with all the news headlines.

Thanks

Seems like classic mob mentality going on. There may be a legitimate beef, but at some point people just start destroying things for no reason. This sort of behavior is one of the saddest traits we as a species, possess. Granted it's not all of us... but enough.

I'm waiting for la guillotine to resurface.

As it's not actually French people that are rioting.. i doubt we will see a guilitine in action. We are more likely to see beheadings via a large scimitar.

... A couple of observations.

1. Its been 11 days now, and France has not surrendered.... I guess there is hope for them yet.

2. The french are now learning the benefit of having a large population of people who refuse to assimilate, refuse to learn french, and refuse join society.... "because its against ISLAM"

I guess im going to coin a new phrase "Le Islam: the Welfare Faith"

The muslims complain that nobody will hire them to do anything except for (mexican migrant type work) yet, they dont speak French.... The Algerians fought hard to not be part of france and stopped learning french for the most part in 1962..... it is by the grace of French Stupidity (i.e. willingness to pay high taxes to support the Islamic welfare state) that these people have not already starved to death... I wonder if that will change now?

I am not usually one who roots for the french... and I definately do not root for Islam... now it seems like its two speeding trains of suck heading right for eachother and its more captivating than last years "sureallife"

I really hope they send in the Legion de Estrange. That should have everything sorted out in about 11 more days... unless "poor little rioter" figures into it somehow.

We are living in interesting times. I really don't know what to think about it all.

HeadWreck - what are people saying about this where you are?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Another reason why I dislike god based religions but that's a whole other topic. France needs to get it under control even if it means shot to kill the rioters. They can't allow this to continue on.

Onyx - honestly this was the first place i heared of it, i dont watch much tv and despise the radio here so unless someone brings it out in conversation...

where i'm, posted for the past 2 weeks and the next 14 is a large library where people forget i'm in ther untill i move one of the electric shelf units. i've been missing out on breaks as i just simply am to engrossed in my work and have no point of referance that its lunch time (people come and go often, and often i'm on my own for an hour or so)

I heard something interesting today from a French woman at the YMCA where my kids swim. She said that the Muslim youth are generally the 2nd or 3rd generation of immigrant parents... NOT primarily new immigrants themselves. She said the economy over there is not good at all... and there aren't many jobs period... Hmmmmmmmmmmm...

nope

economy is stagnant there.

the france and germany had 1% growth last year.

dodgy currency is still in its infant stage, even though france gets substantial european subsidaries (established to rebuild after the war, and they refused to surrender them, even when newer less developed european states need them)

I know maybe they think they need to do this for their 'cause' but.....burning old, beautiful and possibly historic buildings won't fix anything and is just WRONG.

Burning books and buildings is a terrible waste.

Jobs are few and far between in France from everything I have read.. but there are jobs. The French, from all I have read, wont give the imigrents jobs that actually pay decent... the reasons given are that the imigrants refuse to become part of French culture.. they wont learn the language or go by French customs. They want France to change it's culture to meet thier needs and ways rather than adapting to France's ways. The French employers don't think they need to learn Algerian and become Muslim to hire a sales person.. and I dont blame them.

I don't either.

The point that the lady I spoke with was trying to make was that the immigrants themselves DID want to assimalate into the French culture... it's some of their offspring that don't. Are the reasons they give about Muslim beliefs true, or are they still in a phase of rebelling against parental (and other) authority? I wonder.

About the jobs.. She said there are truly NOT a lot of jobs... period. She wasn't too pleased with the way things are run there. A lot of entitlement attitude. Also... many of the French, like here, won't take the low paying jobs any more so it would seem they are left to the immigrants. Toss in the fact that the French are a stuborn and obnoxious bunch... I outta know. :whistling

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
