pomba gira Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Back on subject: I never made a tree house before but however back as a kid me and some other kids made a pretty good hide-out in a abandoned subway station in the ghetto days. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Back in the '80s I knew a guy who had a hideout inside a freeway overpass support on the Jeffries just past Southfield... they called it The Sub. It was dark & stuffy & when a rig would go by overhead everything would vibrate & echo & the candles would dance. They had it filled with junk pilfered from people's yards, including 5 or 6 lawn flamingos & at least 3 plaster Virgin Mary statues. Pretty sweet. I look at the entry hatch everytime I pass by there & wonder if all that crap is still in there... Those treehouses are awesome but stuff like that always makes me think: Some people have waaay too much time on their hands. But then again, I suppose building elaborate treehouses is a better use of time than... oh... coaching kids to pass utterly meaningless standardized tests, for example.
n0Mad Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Actually this makes me want to set up shop in an abandoned subway. Lots of awesome stuff down there and you can usually get power and everything you need as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dude, I'd move in with you. That sounds sweet!
