The Mexican people should do something about that rather than cutting and running for the border.

Yep, every time I went over the border I had a mexican family sittin around the corner and sending their kids holding their hands out for money or trying to sell some homemade items. I remember being there a couple of months ago in Nuevo Laredo and I was looking for a taxi. Some chic came up to me and started offering me a free blowjob. Immediately I could identify this so-called chic was really a guy dressed up as a woman. I told her no and that I was not interested. She kept walking along with me and grabbing my crotch and I kept pushing her hand away and she was grabbing at my ass. Finally I stopped and turned around to shove her away and the chain on my wallet was dangling. So I knew what she was trying to do and when she saw that i noticed my wallet trying to be stolen, she said bye bye and took off. I might have been more threatening had it not been for the show of power in the area for military. I don't want to get taken into custody for anything over there.

Just sad what their economy has been like to make people go to such extremes. Its like watching Escape from New York over there.

i see this as a positive, after they leave, bring in the border patrol in full force with the coast guard to enforce nobody will get in, but alas, I think this is just gonna be a bs scam, and it won't happen, but hey wouldn't it be nice if all the dishonest ppl just got up and left?

We wouldn't have much of a government left... and probably a fair bit of business leaders would be gone too. :fear

The problem is that last few times they have tried, the leaders and main participants were killed

uh-huh... You have to break a few heads to make a real change in a corrupt government. Sometimes, those heads are your own. Really, 10-12million people marching on Mexico City and making demands for a change... the mexican government would have to do it or the UN would say bad things about them, make threats for 10 or 12 years and then eventually, the US would have to go in and do it for them.

It's 3:00 p.m E.S.T ...Can someone pm me when all the major cities are at a standstill?

Well I am at my job today... but to support this cause, I decided to be really lazy while at work

I didn't really see any huge effect for the day. Sure a few companies had to shut down for the day, but its no different from any holiday and they prepared with a weeks notice for it. Personally, I don't think it was a wise choice to enrage an already angry america.

We went to a nice Italian resteraunt in Ann Arbor... the food was better than normal and the service was great. Its odd how easy it is to cook a good gorgonzola steak and serve it properly when everyone speaks english.

I caught the Free press this morning and seen a "protest" photo on the front page. Some woman had a sign that read "equal rights for all races" an I thought to myself - it's not about equal rights it's about legally living in this country. Some people just can't get it right when protesting.

Btw - That protesting sure did put this country in turmoil yesterday.

Next please.

Well don't give the Bush family any ideas... They had enough as it is.

I was unimpressed. Still waiting for finacial data though...

When 31-year-old illegal Arizona resident Ignacio Jimenez sought employment at an American plant in Mexico, he was shot at by Mexican border guards as he attempted to illegally enter the country of his citizenship, pursued by U.S. immigration officials who thought he might be entering the country illegally, and fired upon again by a second group of U.S. Border Patrol agents charged with keeping valuable table-busing and food-delivery personnel inside American borders.

Did anybody actually find anything out about the "effect" of the marches?

Posted

There was an article in "USA Today" with financial statistics but I can't really remember them. It wasn't all that bad at all if I recall. Maybe somebody could search the 'net to try to find that article ...

AHEM! Somebody?

I got to this post a little late.

Most restaurants in San Francisco did close, granted we had no choice because 90% of our food deliveries weren't coming in and you can't really order on Thursday for Tuesday yeck.....

I protested in my own way of coming in to do inventory on my day off!!!!

I really see both sides of the issue. I know illegal immigrants, quite a few actually, and I see them just trying to work hard (harder than most Americans I know) to make a better life for them and their family. I have no idea what it is like to be born in a country so poor and horrible that I would risk my life to get out of.

I also see that they should know the consequences for their actions. You break the law you pay the price no matter how long you got away with it. Just because so many got away with it for so long doesn't make it OK.

When I hear people say that they're taking jobs away from Americans I have to laugh. They are doing the jobs that most Americans wouldn't be caught dead doing.

Prices on everything we buy will also be going up when companies have to start paying American wages.

One other thing.........THEY ARE paying taxes. Every single one of my employees have a social security card (that the government accepts) and gets a paycheck with state, federal and social security taxes taken out. They are paying into a Social Security fund that they will never take money out of.

I haven't seen any statistics on how much money illegals pay into Social Security and what effect it will have when they stop..................

I'm in favor of everyone in the country now can become legal. Get documented. If you don't want to get documented than get the hell out.

maybe i'm uneducated, but how the fuck does an illegal immigrant get a valid soc. security id? and if they have one, what's to stop them from collecting?
