I really feel strongly about this. I want to help. I know how hard it is, I helped my man and mom quit.

So I started this thread for you guys. (Kelly, Brenda)

If you ever feel a boost come see this thread.

We want you to breath clear and easy and be of good health for a loooong time.

And we (well most of us) have quit a bad habit or two so we do know where your comming from.

Any words of encouragement or techniques should be posted here.

I hear peppermint tea helps with cravings.....rose quarts with some energy thing...wear one around your neck over your heart chakra.

Oh and like the nike add.......JUST DO IT!

Or in this case just don't do it, light up that is.

I feel much better today. Although I did take a drag today (Which is probably why I feel OK) I'm now waiting for that wave of intense anxiety to hit - usually 12 hours after the last introduction of nicotine in the blood stream...

I called the doctor, and she gave me some Xanax. It seems to help a LITTLE.

Been chewing TONS of gum.

Pacing in circles. Trying to keep my composure. Trying not to eat everything in my path.

My God. Why is it so hard? Even deliberately NOT thinking about it doesn't help. Those anxiety attacks come when they want to, and man it is damn uncomfortable.

My freind said that Xanax worked great for her, coarse she has since started back up again. But her B/F is in the hospital and she does it out of stress. I think maybe when all this is over she will be able to quit. Even though my husband quit while going through major stuff on the job, with his ex and kid all at the same time.

I've got 10 weeks in right now. That first week was the worse then it got somewhat better, not much, but somewhat.

I have faith you both can over come this bad habit that is killing you.

Remember to just breathe when you feel an attack coming on and keep chewing the hell outa gum. I was going threw 2 packs a day for the first 2 months.

What got me was seeing my grandfather having to lug around his oxygen tank everywhere. Also watching my 2nd mom die of Lung Cancer. THAT was devastating. Found out, and in 3-4 months, Gone.

Watching my father cough everytime he stands up, my Mom has been in the hospital all week due to heart palpitations.....

Yeah. As pleasurable and relieving and sexy as smoking is, :erm I decided I should quit now while I'm still somewhat healthy.....

Everybody knows that "Count Chocula" is the cereal of choice for goths. It's black, turns your milk black, and it has a vampire on the box. How can it get more goth than that?

There's always the Spook Anti-Smoking Program. Everytime you light up I crack the cigarette out of your mouth with my bullwhip.

A) It get's rid of the cigarette

2) It may scare you into not lighting up again

Finally) There's always the chance that I might miss

Klaus said his lungs are like they were when he was a teen again now. Jogging seems to have helped because he got a chest xray and all the black stuff is gone.
