Moore made the movie. It goes without saying that it's made up of lies and half truths because thats what Moore does.

Pretty much.... that's why I watched it about half of it... I was curious enough to see just what wsa made up

You could say that about a whole lot of people. How about our whole administration? And yet I pay attention to them anyway. I try to keep an open mind about what they're doing and their motives behind it. It gives me a more informed objective opinion when I can find some things they say that I agree with and I force myself to justify what I do NOT agree with. It's a great exercise.

Oh, and Kat:

you've never not seen a movie because you knew it was crap from the trailers??? you've never trusted the opions of others, whose opinons have earned your trust???

I saw Garfield: The Movie. Lol.

Actually, fictional movies are irrelevant to the question, unless they have a strong message like V for Vendetta (which I recommend, regardless of political affiliation). I've never refused to watch a movie based on its agenda.

Steven... I don't disrespect the service he did and the sacrifice he made for the country. And good points about his state of mind relative to taking on this "battle".

My pinky comment (as noted) and really, my whole post, was aimed at the culture of lawsuits in this country. A lot of it is pettiness and greed and the desire to blame someone else for their pain. As for punishments... I think there has to be a more appropriate form then money. The multi-million dollar settlements end up coming out of our pockets since a company or insurance agency will just pass that on in the form of a price increase. Some punishment.

wait a minute here dude, be fair, and respectuful - this is a war vet - somone who's stood where you have not - someone who deals with the end result of public servitude where you do not.  Someone who carries the war and its long term after effects with him for the rest of his life......where you do not.

Please (said in respect because I like you) do not reduce that with a statement like "you stepped on my pinky......"

He did his time, did his tour, paid his dues, it's more than a pinky.  Also note that whatever length of time it took him is his right.  They guy's been sorta busy I'd think, what with losing his limbs and all.  And perhaps he's had some head trips to work out, having been through a war and all.  And perhaps still - he had some conflict about going after Michael Moore and the rest of the suits behind him.  Perhaps he did not have a big paper bag full of cash in the closet to get himself ready for another war.  Perhaps his body and psyche were exhausted from the "other" war he came home from.  Perhaps we're not him and just dont know....

Michael Moore does indeed stretch things as it suits his needs.  I think he's talented and has a right to speak his mind.  I also think he uses the same propoganda methods as his enemies.

85 Million?  yeah, thats alot of money.  Maybe its inteded to cause harm, to cause hurt, to cripple or at least maim the opposition.  These days - how do you hurt the giants?

There's only one way:  in the wallet.

So swing big.  85 million big.  It makes a whole lot of sense to me.

ANd your right about the media - and I wish at times they DID get sued because of the shit they pull.  AH yes.....but freedom of the press......freedom of speech.....no freedom of course for the oppressed, shut the fuck up and take it allready - were the mighty channel 7 you peasent.....

I dont know if I agree with it.  But I do know Mr. Moore should be as accountable as those he accuses.  If its all bullshit - that will be shown in court.  If its not, and the guy has a case - I hope he fucks Michael Moore and his funders hard in the ass with no lube.

I personally, as  Veteran - hate the thought of Michael Moore representing me.  And I'm not even a desert storm veteran as some of you in here are.  Do you really want Michael Moore as your collective voice?

its good that he is getting 85 million, he is right!

I don't understand people who refuse to see or read something on "principle." It's not like he'd be supporting the producers if he rented it from a video store. People that are worried about being "brainwashed" should probably expose themselves to as many varied sources as possible.

That said... I rented the movie with a girlfriend once. We both got bored out of our minds.

Sigh.

I used to like Michael Moore a lot.

Now I'm so disappointed in him.

I really wish I could sit him down and talk to him one-on-one, heart-to-heart and convince him how much he's harming his cause with his "half-truths" and inaccuracies.

He brings some really important things to light. But then casts a shadow over his message with his shenanigans.

Bad show, Mike. Please wise-up.

Never liked the guy. Never will. I hope he loses and I hope the 85 million dollar loss devastates him. I also hope he gets a cheeseburger stuck in his throat. Or artery. lol.

ok so I'm a little harsh, Mike's done enough harm to himself already. Now that he's officially made himself look like an asshat, I'm satisfied.

Man, he's a question dodger, too. I've seen some interviews.. Wow. Never seen someone try to avoid answering so many questions and in the end not answering them anyway.

yes he is.

Ralph Nader and Moore were both on Bill Maher's show before the elections. Nader said to Moore "Michael, on your website you said that anyone in the house or senate that voted in favor of the war should be thrown out of office. Now you are supporting John kerry and he voted for the war. How could you do that?"

Michael Moore just put his head down and didn't say anything.
