Gun Control:

Buy a gun, and buy a safe with a code that you will remember.

Or just don't be an idiot with it.

Look, I would love to sit here and talk about how ever since I was knee high to a grass hopper, I've been around shotguns, hand guns, knifes, and fishing equipment.

My thing is, guns are the best thing that has happened to man. They are like a land mine, which means they are the best friend a solider can have. They require no food, no water, no sex. All they want to do, is the job that they where created to do...

KILL.

If you have an issue with that, then I don't know what to tell you. Because you can't stop a drunk with a glock that wants to end his life. Even if you did stop him/her once, they WILL ATTEMPT IT AGAIN.

Humans still have that animal trait, they will kill if threatened, scared, or due to mental illness.

Sorry, not familiar. I lurked alot on some military and Tactical response related forums but

nothing politicaly motivated.

I also maybe was influenced by some of the High Speed fellows I've rubbed elbows with :cool

Smothered Hope - Are you on the USCCA forums? Your last post sounded like something I'd find there.

Here's my safe:

When my pistol is not carried on my person, it stays locked in this safe. It keeps my niece and nephew out yet if anyone breaks into the house, my parents or I can access it in seconds. It's a great safe. The keys are for backup but primary entry is through the four finger slot buttons on top. You can find them in the dark and after the code is pressed, the spring loaded door pops open.

hmmm.. here's a thought... make guns readily available, but make the bullets 100 each. Then you know for sure that if you're struck by a bullet, either the guy is filthy rich, or he MEANT to hit you...hehhe

Good for you. Thats a nice safe. Not too big, but fits what you need it to hold.

You've been watching too much Eddie Izzard.

Ammo is already getting too expensive as it is. If it keeps on going up I may have to look into reloading. Carry ammo I'll pay a premium price for because I pray to God I'll never have to use it and that keeps costs down. Practice ammo on the other hand, the cheaper it is the more I can practice. The more I practice the better I get. The better I get the odds of me missing the bad guy and hitting an unfortunate innocent goes way down. And we all want innocent people to be safe from getting shot, don't we? Thus cheap ammo is a good thing.

Which, this reminds me of California's ban on .50 caliber weapons. Ammo for .50 is really expensive so criminals aren't going to bother with it instead sticking with cheap 9mm and .38 special. The only people who can afford .50 caliber weapons and ammo aren't the ones you have to worry about.

shooting is a skill that degrades with lack of practice.

and a blunt tool is the most dangerous tool in the workshop

Just responding to the initial post (again) I'd need to know what we mean by "gun control".

"No guns , bye bye all gone (from civilians)"

is quite a bit different than:

"Stricter gun control laws"

But, since this is only a minor issue for me, i could be persuaded to go for or against either configuration , depending on what we perceive as the trade offs. Its a very complicated, multi-faceted thing with no simple answers, at least i cant find any.

so my buddy told me to get a shot gun. That way I don't have to be registered.......cause I wanted a glock.

Just be sure to keep it in a secure location, and buy a trigger lock.
