The Cure have a song called 'Three'. It's on the album 'Seventeen Seconds', from 1980, Side one, song four.

I think his fiance' would be pissed, but he might enjoy it.

Your excessive musical knowledge just astounds me.

I might have lied about the side one, song four, thing but I believe that's where you'll find it. I actually only have three Cure records, Top, Seventeen Seconds and Faith but I have Boys Don't Cry and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me on CD. Hey just thinking about it, what is your favorite year as far as Rock is concerned?

Posted

You know what? I've never even thought about it. There are so many songs from so many genres and so many years that I love for various reasons. I couldn't pick if I tried! It would be inpossible for me. How about you? What's your favorite year in music?

Posted

I just realized it yesterday, but...1982!

Here's why:

Adam Ant~Freind Or Foe

Depeche Mode~A Broken Frame

Cure~Pornography

Virgin Pruins~The Moon Looked Down and Laughed (they actually released 3 albums this year!)

Stranglers~Feline

Seems like there are more good things that I'm not remembering...

1983 is a close second...79-80 are nice, too.

I loved the 80's. So much! Not the neon clothes and that crap, though. The music was just so new and different to me. I lived for MTV! I loved David Bowie's "Ashes To Ashes" video. Any time Adam Any came on, I was mesmerized. He was such a beautiful man. Depeche Mode....LOVE them. Always have. The first time I saw The Cure, I Just thought Robert Smith was unusual and cute. And I miss all the old stuff, visually. I hate what I see now. It sucks. My kids are watching this......SHIT. Ugh!!

Posted

MTV used to be great! I remember that my sister was a member of the (official) Simon Lebonn (Duran Duran) fan club...fashion in the 80's 'was' crazy...hey, did you know that Adam Ant desiegned his own wardrobe?

Posted

i loved between 1981 and 1986 i think. those were some good music years

Posted

I did know that! God, how I used to fantasize about making love to that man!! What a beautiful man....

the late 70's were cool-'79 especially:

Joy Division's first album

The Cure's first Album

Bauhaus release Bella Lugosi's Dead

etc.

There's just too much to love. I can't even rattle off everything that I love to listen to. I can listen to music for hours and hours on end. All day, and all night long....

Yeah, that's why I don't even have the net at home: I play music in my free time; no television or anything else. I have a television-I actually have cable on it too (for my daughter) but I myself rarely watch it. Maybe once every two weeks for an hour or so...

Posted

I don't watch much TV anymore. I play music all day. The kids get so mad at me if I turn it off, but there's really nothing on for them that's healthy. They're too old for Sesame Street and too young for everything else. I obviously have the 'net. Being married to a computer guy, I don't have a choice. And, when he comes home, he gets on his pc and plays games.

Posted

I've thought about dropping my cable...but I get unusually poor reception without it...and my daughter likes cartoons and I let her watch them because I used to love them and cartoons are what got me interested in art...there are a few new cartoons that are good, too-but i do try and screen what she sees. She has to watch the cartoons that I think are cool. I pick the ones with the coolest animation and that-I really care about virtually nothing beyond art. Almost everything else is boring and pointless to me.

i loved 70's music too. good thing my parents listened to great music too cuz at that age it is not like i was in control of what i listened to yet. that didn't happen til the early 80's.

Posted

I agree. I'm not into boring or pointless. That's what a lot of TV is anymore. How can we have all these channels, yet there's nothing to watch? How pathetic is that? I keep saying that I'm getting rid of cable, but Wayne might shit himself as well. He loves being able to watch his sports while blowing shit up on the pc. I don't know. I really want it gone.

Posted

It'd be cheaper without cable, that's for sure... You know what sucks? This week my tuner (reciever) is in the shop. It's sick. I've had no music to listen to at home...I've just been playing guitar all night. That reminds me...those guys haven't called me back yet. They called on Monday to say they found nothing wrong with it and I was like "look again" basically, "because you suck" but I didn't say that to them, exactly...

Posted

I would have said that. Am I mean?

Posted

Not that I've noticed. Do you want to call the repair shop for me and shake them up a bit?

Posted

Wouldn't it be better if I were there, wearing a low-cut top? I usually get what I want that way. Which is weird, because I'm not well-endowed.

Posted

I like small better...like 'B's are perfect. I'll give them another day to get things figured out-
