Crushes end when the crushed upon party (crushee) learns of the person who is crushing (crushor) on them's intentions. Either of the two things can happen, a relationship, or a heartbreak.

Assuming that "relationship" can mean a variety of emotional or physical possibilities... I might be willing to buy that part... but heartbreak is not the only possible outcome if the crushee isn't interested. If mine aren't, and I'm not really expecting them to be... It's not a big deal.

Perhaps your expectations are turned up a wee bit high... ? *shrugs*
