Um, yeah. Well, here's the sucky thing. If they are mutually exclusive somehow and I must pick one, I will likely start seeing another on the side, plus someone else for friendship, and THAT sir, is a sucky destiny. Don't make me choose. There's an all-in-one (or maybe all-in-two? *crosses fingers*) out there for me somewhere. ANd of the three (romance, hot sex and friendship) if I had to pick ONE, it would be friendship. I could be a monk for the rest of my life if only I knew I wasn't alone in my suffering. lol. (Romance without hot sex, or at least decently amusing tepid sex, is just a tease---a horrible, horrible tease! No can do!)

FRIENDSHIP. Romance seems gamy to me. Friendship makes all the moves that most matter. I need hugs when I'm down, encouragement when I'm nervous, hurrahs when I persevere more than I will ever need flowers and candy and stupid little teddy bears. But those things can come into play with friendship too. I often buy little presents for friends--little "I'm thinking of you" shit that I know will bring a smile to their faces, cuz I am thinking of 'em and I want 'em to know that I appreciate their friendship. And that's about as close to romance as I've ever gotten. The rest is a scheme to sell stuff.

Romance BRINGS hot sex.

If you're being sweet to each other, whatever that means to you, it brings REALLY great sex. I have been in relationships where we didn't have romance. Therefore, I wasn't putting out. If he's not good to me, I'm closed off. When I'm being treated as well as I am (and I don't mean with material things), he pretty much has to fight me off with a stick.
