NOT TO BE A BUZZKILL but... there IS no perfect mate

(even among the people who put a picture of their mates.)

The only way to have a perfect mate is to create them in a lab,

and even then, it wouldn't be perfect, because there are qualities that make the perfect person that you never even knew you wanted---

until you see them in him/her and are overjoyed.

AND If someone was perfect, you'd never disagree, and then they'd also be the most boring mate.

That said a "perfect mate" in its basest form for me is someone who can put up with my shit all day, and still want to spend the next one with me

i'd rather someone share their genuine happiness over loved ones over and over again than complain about how they hate kids/their kids/relationships/the person they are with. i guess the "gushing" can be a little much (depending on the people) at times but if you're happy and you know tell the world. share your positve energy; there's definately a lack of that out there.

I guess my ideal mate is someone who is loving, caring, empathetic and kind. Is a good father to my son and can take care of him. Pretty much what I have now =).

so I started this thread and apparently (no one else is to use that word btw) I made a list and edited it.

My list sucked, it must have, because it was before I knew MsMalador existed. She would have made my list look pathetic and wothless.

I never knew someone like her existed before now. Someone who is incredibly kind and compassionate and has done so many nice things for me without asking for anything in return. I didn't know someone was this smart and articulate. I didn't know someone would look that cute when she wakes up in the morning and her hair is all messed up. I never knew I could be this physically attracted to someone, to where I have to look away sometimes because her eyes are too intense. My perfect mate is Tracy and I wouldn't change a single thing about her. She is far more than I deserve. I frustrate her sometimes but I hope she knows I don't mean to and I am working on ways to not make it happen again.
