I have been very sad and upset all day. Our family friends own Meribar Pet Store in Warren. A fire broke out late yesterday afternoon around 6 pm or so. The people working were able to get out, but with only a few of the animals. Basically, one pug puppy and the huge parrot, Beauregard. All of the other animals... well, you know. That was sad enough hearing about it word of mouth, but then on the news they were interviewing, I believe, the groomer who works there and she commented how she could hear the animals crying and how they tried to get to them to get them out, but the flames and smoke were too strong. I just feel so overcome with sadness over these poor, helpless animals and what they went through.

I actually heard that on the news this morning and I cried. Cried good and hard and said a little prayer for the kittehs and dogs. Yeah...I admitted it, I don't ever admit to crying. I HOPE it wasn't an intention arson...I would seriously be sick to my stomach. I care about animals more than most moms care about their kids (you'd hope I was joking...but for serious I'm not. I walk around all day throwing peanuts at squirrels. There's wild rats starting to come into the neighborhood and I keep feeding them even though I could get fined real bad by my townhouses My rat died a year ago and I cry about it all the time, and people are like "wtf is wrong with you? He's was a rat, let it go"). I actually got disturbed when someone made a sarcastic remark about the fire saying "Where was Pee-Wee Herman when those animals needed him?" and normally, I dish out sarcastic remarks left and right. I'm sorry about their loss :(
