Do you know how many parents don't tell their kids about contraceptives and the majority of the time it has nothing to do with religion. It's because parents are ignorant to the fact their kids are growing up, or they just don't know how to talk about sex with their kids. And in 2008 a teenager doesn't need to hear it from their parents on where to get condoms or the pill since it's talked about among their peers as well as being adveritised by planned parenthood and shit. Don't put it on Palin because her daughter and the boyfriend were to dumb to go to the store and pick up a box of condoms.

Last time I checked there was a father in this family too, so why is the child rearing totally left up to the woman? Men are perfectly capable of raising children too.

Ugh. Dude, really. Read HER words on what she believes. Not what people think she believes. There are many quotes from the last few years where she says she advocates teaching the use of contraception along side abstinence.

She thinks abstinence is the best route for kids to go and if they can't keep it in their pants... contraception.

This whole view that she only supports abstinence comes from a questionnaire she filled out while running for Governor. With the wording of the question and the choices given, abstinence was the only choice close to her own beliefs. She explained her full position within two weeks of filling out the questionnaire.

Actually, VPs in the US don't do much more than hold tea parties and go to funerals of people who weren't important enough for the president to show up for.

I would guess that in her role as VP she would actually have alot LESS to do than most working mothers.

If you want me to rattle off prominent ruling women in other countries, and their children, I can, I just don't think that's really necessary. I can also rattle off for you prominent women in business, military, medical and philanthropic lines of work who are balancing their home and work. Again, you have the Google machine, too, I'm sure you can find the same list I can. So, no, really, I do suspect that she will be able to raise her family AND competently do her job.

My friends ask me all the time why raising twins and working seems so easy for me. They ask me my 'trick'. And I say' Marry well' .It's true - if you have a husband who can get in the mix, you really and truly CAN balance your career, whatever that may be, with your home life. Todd Palin definitely seems like the hands-on type of dad. Good for him.
