Don't think anyone here's gonna judge you and think you're being "slutty". You're just not lookin' to be serious with anyone for now is all.

AstralCrux Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I would concur with Raev... the loneliness gets pretty bloody painful at times. Sometimes you can solve that by simply going out and being around people. For a very long time I had to constantly have friends around to distract me from the loneliness that I was suffering post-breakup. It took months of piles of people in my house. The jokes about my house being a hippie commune or that I must be mexican (I love mexicans, I wish I had a little latin in me) were constant, but I wasn't used to being alone. I had to wean myself off of people. Now I can just happily distract myself with a new sewing project or a book. I learned long ago, that I can be completely alone in a crowded room with friends, and good friends are the hardest to find. But, the longer I don't date, the easier life is.
StormKnight (1) Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Kind of counter to what I have experienced. Been alone most of my adult life. No family to really count on. Friends I know have their own lives, and their availability is dependent on schedules and other commitments. There are days I don't say more than 20 words to another living soul, even at work. I have those projects of distraction. But in the end, feel HAL from 2001 shows more emotion regularly than I do, and I feel more like an automation than human. I do yearn to know that I can communicate with a like soul more than in the form of electrons and electronic media more than once a week. Someone that makes me feel human, that has the same interests I do, and wants to be that close to me, and inspires me to respond in kind. "Yes I'll sit with you and talk let your eyes relive again I know my vintage prayers would be very much the same And Magdelena plays the organ, plays it just for you Your choral lamp that burns so low when you are passing through And the future you're giving me holds nothing for a gun I've no wish to be living sixty years on"
AstralCrux Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Family is never reliable. I just happened to have friends who felt more comfortable at my house than at home, and I had 4 roommates in a 2-3 bedroom house. Now, I'm down to 1 roommate, so lonely occasionally creeps in, but I've been having people over for game nights and such to counteract it.
candyman Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I think Cupid just hired a mini MC Hammer to stand on my head dancing to a twist of one of his classics..."Don't fuck this"...and the ladies stream around me like water around a rock.
B0bii Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Family is never reliable. I know the feeling. Had family screw things up for me in the past. all i did was move on

torn asunder Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I don't appreciate that generalization. well, it was pretty obvious to me it was just a joke.
candyman Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I don't appreciate that generalization. I was hardly talking about you...just wasn't sure if the Gimp has been confusing the club for the retirement homes lately...

I wasn't offended by the drugs bit. It's your response to the bitching that bothers me, because once I grab you by your ear and throw you in that chair, you better damn well be listening. In fact, I recommend that you bloody well take notes, because if you cross the line one more time, I'm going to give you a beating that will make you curse your maker. That is all.

I suck at taking notes! Also, I have very small ears so I highly doubt you can grab them without the aid of a small grabbing device...HA!

StormKnight (1) Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Older women have these. Our arthritis makes it necessary. You might need to be watching where you put the cutoff line for what you are calling old enough to require devices to help grab things there, youngin'. Just kidding *grumbles as he heads back to the ICU to take care of Cupid*
candyman Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 *grumbles as he heads back to the ICU to take care of Cupid* Would holding a pillow over his face help?
StormKnight (1) Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Nah, he's been trached and ventilated for the last 3 months.

StormKnight (1) Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Dude, his insurance went out with the Roman Empire...are you really gonna eat that bill? Me? No. Some guy named Lou Cypher has been footing the bill, for months in advance, and has refused signed a DNR/DNI request. I think he wants him to live just to make our single lives hell.
