pomegranate juice???.....

Im talking cigarettes...they don't relieve stress.....shit you could shove a cucumber up your ass and relieve more stress that way.

right.

Well with respect to the rest of the board.

I am ending MY posts in this thread...of course...that may seem odd since i started it.

But i realized were getting no where fast.

I did however realize many things about a few on here.

some i find enlightening.

:)

anyhoo, cigarettes are nasty,

your choice to smoke them is yours,

and i respect the reaction of "few" who took offense....

sure it was a slight attack on your choices...but some learn from mistakes and some don't,

not my place to judge.

only if your holding the cucumber.....

look...I'm not saying I NEED them all the time....nor am I saying that it's great to be a smoker....what I am saying is that it's different strokes for different folks....when I'm stressed out....I smoke to take part of my mind off the situation and it gives me something to do while I am worrying my ass off. It's more about having an oral fixation when I am nervious....nothing IN the cigarettes helps...I know that....but it's the psychological bit that has me hooked

the real bitch about it is that I don't even inhale...it's a waste of money more then it is for most ppl....I "smoke" purely for psychological stress reasons and for social situations...

btw...shouldn't you be at Ren Fest???

im still wondering where the aresnic comes from in the process, if its needed to bond the tobacco better. just seems odd to put such a element into the mix.. or even justifiable to do so. any other foods/drugs that use arsenic

Saga,

Arsenic is often found in the pesticides used in tobacco farming.

Tar? Really? Thats odd because Tar is used to treat allergic reactions on the skin.

As for the rest of your list... Saying your allergic to those is like saying you are allergic to fire. They are all poisons and harmful, in any significant quantity, to life.

And the water.. infact... Michigan is known to have high concentrations of arsenic in the ground water. It's also used in cattle feed to fight desease... so it's in your hamburger. It's a naturally occurring element and rather abundant on Earth.

right,...well tobacco plants are also treated with radio active phosphorus which in turn, is one of the suspicions for the high cancer rate in smokers.

lets just say, that every thing can kill you,

because it can, and the points you keep trying to make, i am already aware of.

"you may know a bit of the truth, but that does not make you an expert"

your choice to poison yourself is good enough for me to dismiss your "smug" comments.

Im over it.

Just as long as i don't have to inhale it and listen to this shit in person.

The reason why to chose to start smoking has nothing to do with my point.

Im only judging the nature of the habit, and the naive responses i always tend to get.

I'm not really that worried about you finding me attractive.

thanks?

Why would you start a thread that just tries to make you look better than others if you were not worried what other people think of you?????

& why would you include this statement, if the reason has nothing to do with your point?????

you dont smoke because you like it, need it, or want it.....the ideology was shoved down your throat as a child, teen, adult

I don't generally get involved in these childish discussions about things like, how grody smoking is, but I feel you were being rude.....

Smoking is a serious addiction, and it is not proper to go around insulting people for having an addiction.....One that you probably don't even quite understand, because looking at how old you are, and how long you smoked, You probably only smoked when you got the chance, witch dose not constitute a full blown addiction.....

When you are addicted to something it rules you life in many ways.....

I am NOT disagreeing that smoking is bad or unattractive.....

I am unhappy with your "better than others" attitude.....

ahh guess thats a logical reason, learn something everyday . yah iv known for it being in michigans water. among other things in our waters. and to think everyone in the world is in envy of the great lakes

hmmm this also means its in most of our foods, i can assume amonia and arsenic. yet humans are living longer, gaf can i nominate you as the dgn goto guy for information that i could look up myself but am to lazy. your a walking textbook.

or better yet we should all pool in to work on a cure for cancer. yup it whould hit news, goths obsessed with black latex and objects of death, are searching for that cure.

I could very well lay off the cigs-- but the present arrangement of the faces (and intactness of eardrums) of many other human beings depends upon me satisfying this love of nicotine daily.

Until I find another strong medicine which appeases my quick temper, and delays my reaction time, I will continue to be one of those odious, much-maligned users of this herb. At least I say a silent prayer to the Great Spirit each time I light up-- I never take tobacco for granted, as some do. It is a powerful and ancient medicine!

my attitude was misconstrued....don't point the fucking finger.

I'm a blunt person...if i thought i was better than others, i would say it with no problems, or issues with the reaction of others towards that statement.

Don't talk to me like you know me.

I'm no better than anyone else, and I like yourself have a right to speak out about my opinions.

what i probably did, or how old i am, doesn't give you the right to assume anything about me.

YOU LET ADDICTION RULE YOUR LIFE.

I DONT.

DONT APPLY THAT SHIT TO ME.

better than others attitude my ass....im just stating facts about myself, and my opinions...and yet again, if i thought that, id say it to your face.

Im sorry you feel that way, and im sorry you look at me like that, but what im not sorry for is who i am.

And you don't know me, and most likely never will...preach to those who want to listen, and if you do, do it with conviction.

i think you all need to smoke something other then cigs :p its a personal choice to smoke, and the best way to help someone quit is to encourage them or bring them to people who dont smoke and wont judge them if they do smoke a bit. usually hanging out with non smokers i end up smoking less,

negative judgement does not help quitting. it only creates self judgement which might make the psycological cravings for the vice worse.

most smokers (not all) do use good smoking manners. the ones who dont have manners tends to help stereotype all smokers as rude smokers that blow smoke in peoples faces. or light one up infront of kids or someone they know hates the smell. thats human nature for the worst to represent the majority through bad publicity

      ~~~~~ Wait, what? With as hot as it has been, that sounds like it would have been a great idea.  Or did it interfere with something?
      Wow, we had a brief power outage on Friday morning and I just now had time to boot my computer back up.  It has been a crazy time, but I did get my vehicle back Friday afternoon and new tires put on it Saturday morning.   After 2 years, finally got the AC repaired and the frame rewelded from last year's "repare".  These guys at Gratiot Auto Center: Chris P., Sevo and Damon...Lifesavers!!!   They used to be called Roseville Auto, but this is a new group because I didn't recognize anyone and they didn't have any records of working on my previous vehicle.  Also, there seems to be 2 shifts of workers because I didn't know anyone there today when I went to have the maintenance light turned off from the service that was completed Saturday.   It was literally like night and day.  Chris P. was laid back and handled things with a steady flow, Minnesota Fats style.  The guy today was rushed and hectic like an extra from Everybody Loves Raymond.
