horribly.....disgusting.

I was a smoker for 4 years....

quit cold turkey, no problem...

and in the months of being clean, i have realized this.

Women while smoking, don't look classy, contrary to their perception....ughhh why include that in a beautiful picture of you?! and shit it just looks plain gross.

grody

icky,

whatever.

I have never known such hatred for any drug, alcoholic beverage,

or substance as much as cigarettes.

*blech!*

I see a beautiful lady, walking down the street, gorgeous hair, eyes....skin....and all of a sudden

she pulls out a cigarette, designed to kill, and control...every undesirable in america.

its a form of control....i mean common!

you dont smoke because you like it, need it, or want it.....the ideology was shoved down your throat as a child, teen, adult.....and of course is accepted by society as this normality, when the only damn thing that habit does is kill.

plain and simple.

Well, the way I see it is that people choose to smoke in the first place. You chose, I chose. It is one hell of a nasty habit which I'll agree and I wish I never started smoking. But it is my fault for starting in the first place when I was a mere teen. Yeah we all make fault decisions when were younger but hey, we all have to learn the hard way sometimes.

Congrats on the quitting and I can respect you for the courage to quit cold-turkey. I plan on quitting myself someday, however I deal with too much stress for right now.

meh stress....O_o

just go to the health food store and use homeopathy to relieve stress, opposed to poisoning yourself.

The truth is, when you start smoking, and develop a nicotine addiction,

it isnt stress your smoking for.....you would have been fine, without cigarettes,

with all that stress....its the physical addiction, and stress is always the first excuse.

i used it.....but you gotta realize you would be just as stressed without it.

so, like i said, if it helps you any by my telling you this..... go to dales or a nice health food store, and get some stress pastilles and/or homeopathy pellets.

They work wonders, and actually help relieve the effects of stress and prevent future breakdowns with natural endorphins found in plants....which are not addictive.

even while your still smoking, i suggest you try it....you might be pleasantly surprised.

So, I'm sure you remember rolling your eyes at the sanctimonious speeches given by rabid antismokers, right?

Just sayin'.

The truth hurts, and can get very annoying.

:)

i also have developed allergic asthma to cigarette smoke,

so second hand, is as well my problem too.

(not my choice to succumb to co-dependency of others...sure its your choice to smoke, but not my own, which is why i agree on banning smoking in public)

Oh i remember rolling my eyes, but almost dying can change someones perception.....

I will just say "yep". :yes

i've never understood smokers, and dont pretend to.

even been out with a few and although the person really was worth investing the time and emotion in them... kissing them was sometimes like liking out an ashtray.

oh, and an ashtray on the table or in sight while i'm eaten is the only way i can be put off my food

Its just another slow form of suicide.

excuses make me cringe....

the smell makes me gag,

i don't discriminate or cut out smokers from dating them, or being good friends,

But i honestly can't relate myself to "why" they smoke, or buy this self righteous fodder about "their choice"

that is fine, you chose to smoke, but i didn't chose to inhale YOUR smoke while trying TO EAT.

I almost visited the hospice 3 times, due to congestion and asthma symptoms while i was still smoking.

Its not worth it.

I dont mean stress from needing a cig its more like dealing with stress from other situations, but your right, we would deal with stress regardless if we were addicted or not. I've thought about giving homeopathy a shot, but I never had the $ for it, once I start getting income again I should look into it.

Anyways, I appreciate your kind advise though

When I found out that kissing a smoker was like licking an ashtray..... man that made those lonely nights around the bar much better... cuz those ashtrays are pretty easy to find.

Other than to be smug, what is the point of this thread?

I have never... ever... smoked a cig... and never will

Whats the point of killing yourself?

O_o

slowly at that.

The point is, ignorance breeds toxicity, and cigarettes harm more than just the smoker.

a lot of people wish they could quit cold turkey. but waiting for the threshhold of nicotine half-life can tempt someone to go back to smoking. its psycology. the withdraw affects can be compared to heroin for many, depends on your personality, how much is already in your system. infact smoking is relative to a small dosage of heroin in effects it has on the brain

i hear the most affective method is hypnosis

*somehow my editing related to a new reply, sorry to the mods for the annoying clean up.

hmm, sounds interesting.

I agree with you, it does depend on the person.

Anyhoo its just plain foolish to start in the first place,

myself included.

It is not like the facts aren't out there,

and of course, we all know how many toxins are in the evil little buggers.

ignorance is seriously a horrible excuse, but one used non the less.

I knew better, now i can say it was naive of me to even take that first drag.

Show me your scientific proof of that. Oh wait!!! There is none... never has been, but lets not cloud the issue with silly things like facts. Like being 20 pounds over weight has more adverse health affects that can be scientifically proven than exposure to second hand smoke.

Could be worse. If this were a guy making the same post, all our smokers would be tearing him a new asshole. But if a pretty girl posts it...

wish i was a guy at this moment,

....

I strongly believe smoking is a nuisance....and its seriously the lack of caring that keeps this habit around.

So are fat people, but I don't see anyone trying to ban fat people from eating all they want or forcing them to exorcise.

I find it funny that those who find these "facts" about second hand smoke being harmless,

are already set on finding only that.

ignoring the oppositional view, and studies that show it is harmful just says that is one poor half ass statement.

hmm, intelligent....very...very intelligent.

Nice to see someone defend something that has no use, for stress relief, or benefits of any kind,....a complete useless, nasty, unattractive habit,

in the name of pride.

*giggles*

keep up the good work boy'o

how was your quitting? and how many cigs a day where you smoking when you quit. where headaches ,tension, lack of sleep, or problems breathing from your lungs healing big issue for the first 3 days? im just curious, iv wanted to quit, but seems after 4-5 hours the tension in my body that my mind created led me to give in

      ~~~~~ Wait, what? With as hot as it has been, that sounds like it would have been a great idea.  Or did it interfere with something?
      Wow, we had a brief power outage on Friday morning and I just now had time to boot my computer back up.  It has been a crazy time, but I did get my vehicle back Friday afternoon and new tires put on it Saturday morning.   After 2 years, finally got the AC repaired and the frame rewelded from last year's "repare".  These guys at Gratiot Auto Center: Chris P., Sevo and Damon...Lifesavers!!!   They used to be called Roseville Auto, but this is a new group because I didn't recognize anyone and they didn't have any records of working on my previous vehicle.  Also, there seems to be 2 shifts of workers because I didn't know anyone there today when I went to have the maintenance light turned off from the service that was completed Saturday.   It was literally like night and day.  Chris P. was laid back and handled things with a steady flow, Minnesota Fats style.  The guy today was rushed and hectic like an extra from Everybody Loves Raymond.
